      <abstract>
        <p>Cubosomes are bicontinuous cubic liquid crystalline phases formed by the self-assembly of polar lipids, monolein, in water. They offer unique physicochemical properties than the other common colloidal delivery systems such as liposomes and nanoparticles. The article reviews about definition of cubosomes, advantages and disadvantages, composition and different production and characterization techniques. Moreover, there is an emphasis on the importance of cubosomes for the effective delivery of anticancer drugs.</p>
