      <abstract>
        <p>The aim of the study was to assess the haematological parameters in alcoholics. Hematological parameters like platelet count and white blood cell count were analysed in chronic alcoholics by manual, automation and by means of peripheral smear examination. The result revealed that there was a significant reduction in both the parameters in alcoholics.</p>
